Youth Forum Nepal’s mission is to work with all youth regardless of creed; cast, culture and societal background, to collectively strive for a society that is self-aware, violence free and well-disciplined advocating, sensitizing and awaring youth on various issues.

Youths have potentials and ideas but they lack orientation and we are here to provide them with appropriate materials and tools. YFN works to strengthen bonds between young people and their community.

The announcement is to fill the team of popular TV Show Youth Forum, which will shortly be going on air through a reputed private television channel.

Post: Program Coordinator 2 nos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • arrange participants from various colleges
  • co-ordinate with the participants to impart the basic guidelines of youth discussion topics
  • Carry the duties of co-ordination, show management, public relation with the participants and reporting to the producer.
  • work with the show host and producer, and execute the duties assigned by them
  • work with the youth social mobilizers, students, leaders and other social actors to facilitate their maximum participation
  • prepare drafts, reports of the topics and shooting report of the show
  • co-ordinate the activities of the participants and guests
  • perform other duties as necessary
  • Qualifications:

    • Youth between the age of 20 and 29
    • Bachelor Level (those who appear the last year in bachelor level may also apply)
    • Proficient in computer application with the knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, E-mail & Internet
    • Good oral and written communication skills in English & Nepali
    • Good command of report writing, e-mails, searching the issues of youth discussion series from internet.
    • Willingness to frequent visits in academic institutions, youth clubs etc
    • Competencies:

      • Excellent personal motivation with a proven ability to build and work collaboratively in a strong team concept environment, and independently.
      • Focused, versatile, dependable, multi-task oriented, flexible, positive, emotionally stable, able to adapt effectively to challenging and emergency situations.
      • Ability to create discussion topics with the deep insights into the co-ordination, meetings and intermingle with youth.
      • Strong interpersonal skills resulting in exceptional rapport with youth. Able to deal courteously, professionally, and tactfully with the students in a variety of circumstances.
      • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze situations accurately and effectively.

        Search for Common Ground’s (SFCG) mission is to transform how individuals, organizations, and governments deal with conflict – away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions. SFCG started its operation in Nepal in early 2002 and has been working since that time to support the peace process by using an integrated approach of media, and community outreach and peace building activities.

        SFCG is seeking highly motivated, committed and dynamic candidate for Project Manager.

        Summary of Position

        The Project Manager will be responsible for implementing SFCG’s democracy and constitution-building project in Nepal with the long-term goal to structurally transform the way that youth participate in the civic and political arena so that they play a substantial and positive role in supporting the peace and democratization process in Nepal. Specifically, the Project Manager will be responsible for working with partner organizations to design, manage, and monitor the project. The position will be based in Kathmandu and will include frequent travel to the field.

        Key Duties and Responsibilities

        · To work with the Director of Programmes and Community Peacebuilding Program Manager to coordinate and implement the projects;

        · Develop contracts and manage partner organisations;

        · Coordinate activities of the project staff;

        · Work with youth leaders and political stakeholders to facilitate the participation of young people in the constitution building process;

        · Build relationships with stakeholders at national and local levels;

        · Work with the Director of Programs and Community Peacebuilding Programme Manager to develop mapping tools, leadership development, conflict transformation and peacebuilding training curriculum;

        · Develop workshop/training curricula and facilitate trainings and workshops;

        · Work closely with DM&E coordinator to gather information for monitoring of results;

        · Write reports for ongoing projects;

        · To perform all other duties as necessary.

        Qualifications

        · Dynamic, creative and entrepreneurial work style;

        · Bachelor’s degree in related field;

        · Demonstrated knowledge and experience on youth issues in Nepal;

        SNV Nepal invites Nepali youths from marginalized and disadvantaged groups to apply for an internship programme. It aims to provide young members of socially excluded groups with practical working experience in professional environment and to promote diversity of workforce and inclusion within SNV Nepal. We expect that the intern becomes competitive in the job market through exposure to activities by SNV Nepal. The duration of internship will be from 01 May to 31 December 2008.

        This position will be based in Panchthar with one of SNV client with travel to other Hill districts in Mechi and Koshi zones. The intern shall work with East Portfolio Renewable Energy advisor in (RE) team under the line management by Portfolio Coordinator. The intern will be provided with nominal monthly remuneration.         Major responsibilities

        The intern is expected to undertake the following tasks:

        - Support in capacity development process of clients working for Renewable Energy

        - Support in collection, entry, processing and analysis of quantitative data on workforce diversity of clients

        - Support in Research and Development (R&D) activities carried out by clients

        - Support in knowledge development through collecting qualitative data for case studies and writing reports

        Required conditions and competencies

        - Graduated Bachelor level preferably in Renewable Energy

        - Proficient in computer application including word processing in MS-Word, Excel, AutoCad

        - Good oral and written communication skill both in Nepali and in English

        - Available on full-time basis for eight months period from 1 May 2008

        - Willingness for frequent field visit to remote areas
